Energy Market Recap - 9/7/2016

September 7, 2016 10:33AM CDT

October Crude Oil closed up 0.63 at 45.46. This was 0.91 up from the low and 0.12 off the high.

October Heating Oil closed up 1.73 at 142.58. This was 2.51 up from the low and 1.02 off the high.

October RBOB Gasoline finished up 2.62 at 134.26, 1.31 off the high and 2.96 up from the low.

October Natural Gas finished down 0.04 at 2.68, 0.06 off the high and 0.02 up from the low.

All things considered the crude oil market performed somewhat impressively in the wake of headlines Wednesday that could have undermined energy prices. In addition to soft German numbers the energy complex was also presented with downbeat dialogue toward the US economy from the US Fed. In retrospect the October crude oil contract spent a lot of time in positive ground and a moderate amount of time above the $45.00 level.
