Corn Market Recap - 10/25/2016

December Corn finished up 1 at 349 1/4, 3 off the high and 2 up from the low.

March Corn closed up 1 at 359. This was 2 1/4 up from the low and 3 off the high.

December corn traded as much as 4 cents higher this morning to a high of 352 1/4 but still kept inside of yesterday's range. Corn harvest progress is 61% complete but Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin could see several days of delays as 2 or more inches of rain are forecast for the northern 1/3 of the belt. Clear weather will return by the weekend and into next week. Open interest in corn yesterday went up 5,053 contracts. The market continues to be dragged down by the wheat market as the December wheat/corn spread traded to a low of 51 cents this morning, the low for the spread is 46 cents made on October 5th.
