Precious Metals Recap - 9/25/2017

September 25, 2017 3:35PM CDT

December Gold closed up 15.6 at 1313.1. This was 21.4 up from the low and 1.8 off the high.

December Silver finished up 0.00206 at 0.1719, 0.0002 off the high and 0.0032 up from the low.

The precious metals have seen an abrupt change in fortune this morning as they have been able to overcome a stronger Dollar to post sizable gains during Monday's trading session. Comments by a North Korean official have caused a flare-up of tensions in the region, which in turn had gold and silver on-track for outside day higher closes. The PGM's continue their pattern of divergent price action as platinum bounced off of a new 8-week low to post a moderate gain while palladium fell into negative territory after losing early strength.
