Stock Indices Recap - 1/27/2017

January 27, 2017 9:41AM CST

March S&P finished down 5 at 2289.1, 7.1 off the high and 1.6 up from the low.
March S&P E-Mini closed down 5.25 at 2288.75. This was 1.75 up from the low and 8 off the high.

The US stock market exhibited some two-sided trade today in the wake of disappointing data from durable goods and GDP. It also goes without saying that some investors moved to the sidelines because of rising uncertainty off US trade relationships. One could also conclude that some of the liquidation today was the result of profit-taking from a stellar week of gains. It should also be noted that a number of corporate earnings reports tempered optimism toward the current earning cycle.
