U.S. stocks have flown higher today ahead of President Trump’s speech in New York today where he is expected to announce the delay of auto tariffs with Europe. Today’s rise has only boosted what has been a historic run for the U.S. stock market as the Dow Jones rose 66 points, the Nasdaq rose 46 points, and the S&P 500 rose 15 points. Those respective rises were enough to beat each market’s record closing levels. As always, what continues to drive and stimulate the market is the ongoing trade discussions (or wars if you prefer) with China and Europe. Over the weekend, Trump hinted at progress concerning the trade negotiations with chine saying they were going “very nicely”, but that means nothing until we actually see results, because there are still concerns that despite the positive momentum, Trump could raise tariffs in December. We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out.
